as promised, the chocolate chip cookie recipe:
THE BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES:
What you need:
3/4 cup of butter flavored crisco (shortening)
1 1/4 cup of firmly packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons milk (I use oat milk, so i dont think it matters which type is used)
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 egg
1 3/4 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt (i like to use a little extra)
3/4 teaspoon baking soda (i use a little more, like about 1 teaspoon)
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or you can use any other kind - maybe dark)
STEPS:
preheat oven to 375 degrees F
combine the crisco, sugar, milk, and vanilla in a large bowl. with electric mixer, mix at medium speed until well blended, then add the egg
add the flour, salt, and baking soda and mix on low speed just until combined
fold in the chocolate chips
scoop tablespoons of the dough onto baking paper about 3 inches apart
bake for 10-13 minutes, depending on how chewy you want them (i like chewy with a slight outsldie crunch, so i do 11 minutes)
