as promised, the chocolate chip cookie recipe:

THE BEST CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES:

  • What you need:
  • 3/4 cup of butter flavored crisco (shortening)
  • 1 1/4 cup of firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (I use oat milk, so i dont think it matters which type is used)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt (i like to use a little extra)
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda (i use a little more, like about 1 teaspoon)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or you can use any other kind - maybe dark)
  • STEPS:

  • preheat oven to 375 degrees F
  • combine the crisco, sugar, milk, and vanilla in a large bowl. with electric mixer, mix at medium speed until well blended, then add the egg
  • add the flour, salt, and baking soda and mix on low speed just until combined
  • fold in the chocolate chips
  • scoop tablespoons of the dough onto baking paper about 3 inches apart
  • bake for 10-13 minutes, depending on how chewy you want them (i like chewy with a slight outsldie crunch, so i do 11 minutes)
